Obituary

Isabel Rae Thomson, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on May 16, 2026, in College Station, Texas. Born on December 19, 1939, in Manila, Philippine Islands, Isabel’s life was marked by love, dedication, and a deep commitment to those she held dear.

Isabel was a retired banker whose professional life was characterized by diligence and integrity. Beyond her career, she embraced the joys of family and life with an open heart. As an avid quilter and animal lover, she wove warmth and care into every accomplishment and connection, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Her loving family remembers her not only for her strength and grace but for the unwavering love she gave so freely. She is survived by her daughter Deanne Mackey; sons Morton Thomson Jr. and Randal Thomson, and his wife Melanie Thomson; grandchildren Aaron Mackey, Heather Phelps and her husband Timothy Phelps, Jeffery Kane, Justin Thomson and his wife Maddie Thomson, and Alyssa Thomson; and her great grandchildren Sarah Brummett, Austin Brummett, Katelyn Phelps, Theo Thomson, and Maren Thomson. Her family’s hearts carry the bittersweet pain of her loss alongside their profound gratitude for the cherished memories she leaves behind.

Though her beloved husband of 59 years, Morton Thomson Sr., has preceded her in death, Isabel’s legacy as a steadfast partner remains a cornerstone in the family’s story. Her passing is a moment of sorrow yet also a celebration of a life so beautifully lived.

Services honoring Isabel will be held privately with family in Pennsylvania. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the team at Enhabit Hospice for their compassionate care and support, providing peace and comfort during Isabel’s final days.

Isabel’s family urges those who wish to honor her memory to consider contributions to the Aggieland Humane Society, 5359 Leonard Rd, Bryan 77807, or to a charity of your choice.

Isabel will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a beacon of love, devotion, and gentle strength—a true matriarch whose spirit will live on in the hearts she touched.
