Janette Hair Jacobs

Janette H. Jacobs, 87, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at her home.

Janette was born on April 21, 1937 in Bryan, Texas, the daughter of George Ivy and Louise Broach Hair.  Janette was co-owner/manager of Animal World, Bryan/College Station’s first full line pet store.  While at the pet store, she started volunteering at the Brazos County  Juvenile Detention Center.  She enjoyed working with the youth so much, she joined the staff full-time for 26 years.  After retiring in 2016, she enjoyed a leisurely retirement.

Janette is survived by her husband of 48 years, Bennie Jacobs; her son, John E. (Jeb) Barr, III, her daughter, Cynthia D. Hunsberger; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Ms. J will truly be missed, and her love and spirited personality will be with us forever.
