Jean Dodgen, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed peacefully on December 24, 2025. She was born on September 8, 1940, to Annie and William Davis, who preceded her in death along with her cherished sisters, Gwen and Beverly.
Jean was a devoted mother to her two beloved sons, Michael Loehr and Gerald Loehr. She dedicated her early years to raising her children, a role she embraced with deep love and pride. After that chapter of her life, Jean found great joy in traveling, embarking on many adventures, and building lasting friendships with dear friends and family along the way.
In 2000, Jean married the love of her life, Milton Dodgen. Together they shared many wonderful years in Houston, Texas, before recently relocating to Bryan to be closer to family. Jean had a deep appreciation for nature and was especially fond of animals and plants, nurturing both with care and patience throughout her life.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, William and Annie Davis; her sisters, Gwen and Beverly; her beloved husband, Milton Dodgen; and her son, Gerald Loehr and her stepdaughter, Robin Schenewerk.
She is survived by her sister, Rose Ener; her son, Michael Loehr; and her stepdaughter, Tami Toon.
Jean was incredibly proud of her grandchildren and found great joy in each of them: Bobby and Molly Loehr; Steve and Megan Martin; Timothy and Lacy Loehr; Chase Toon; Timothy and Melissa Gibbs; John and Brook Wiggins; Ryder and Lindsey Robinson; and Landon and Lauren Couch.
She was also blessed to know and love her great-grandchildren: Tristan and Macy Martin; Madolyn and Jack Loehr; Dyllan and Karsyn Loehr; Claire and Cooper Couch; and Leare Robinson.
Jean’s life was defined by her love for family, her adventurous spirit, and her gentle, caring heart. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
