John Silas Sanford

John Silas Sanford [64], of Bryan, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026 at his home. John was born on August 10, 1961 to Ethel Mae and Othel Sanford. John graduated from Center High School in Shelby County.

John was known for his love of participating in Special Olympics, bowling, watching westerns, and spending time with friends at Central Church. One of John’s happiest moments was when he and Lydia moved into their new house.

John married the love of his life, Lydia, 35 years ago. They met while bowling at the local bowling alley. They are long-term members at Central Church and the Chosen Sunday School Class. One of John’s favorite church activities was Vacation Bible School.

John is survived by his wife Lydia Sanford, his son Shawn Rittenhouse and granddaughter Jazmyne Searcy, and many friends.

 A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 11:00 am at Central Church, 1991 FM 158, College Station, Texas 77845.
