Joyce Presley Roberts

Joyce Presley Roberts, 96, was born on September 27, 1929 in Mangum, Oklahoma. She lived there with her parents, Ernest and Gladys Presley and brother Sonny. In school, she met her sweetheart Carlos J. Roberts and they were married on July 29, 1946. For 66 years, they raised five children in Mansfield, Kaufman, Claude, Groom, San Marcos, College Station, and finally settled in Bryan, TX. 

Joyce enjoyed spending time with others playing games, like 42 and bridge, cooking big meals, swimming, fishing, gardening, singing and playing music. She and Carlos were long-time members of A&M United Methodist Church and their Sunday School class, the Golden Rule. She was also a member of the UMC Friendship Circle and a past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star. Joyce's family was the most important thing to her and she always stressed how much she loved them. Her five children, their spouses, seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren all loved her just as much. 

Joyce is survived by her family: son, Jerry Roberts of College Station; son and daughter-in-law Terry and Pam Roberts of Martindale; daughters and son-in-laws, Carla and the late Paul Place of College Station, Linda and the late Carl Polansky of Caldwell and son, David Roberts of Bryan; 12 grandchildren and their spouses and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 1 pm followed by funeral service at 2 pm at the A&M United Methodist Church, 417 University Dr, College Station, TX.
