John was born to Santiago and Romana Rocha in Bryan, Texas, on May 23, 1939.
John, a proud and dedicated veteran, passed away after a life marked by service, hard work, and love for his family. John honorably served as a First Sergeant in the United States Army, dedicating over 25 years to his country, including time in the Vietnam War. His leadership, strength, and commitment left a lasting impact on all who served alongside him. After retiring from the military, John continued to work with the same integrity and diligence that defined his service. He was employed at Crane Plumbing and later at Walmart, where he became a valued member of the team. John eventually retired from Walmart, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, reliability, and hard work. Outside of his professional life, John found joy and relaxation on the golf course. He was an avid golfer who cherished the peaceful moments spent playing the game he loved. Whether teeing off with friends or enjoying a quiet round alone, golf was one of his favorite pastimes. John will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, his quiet strength, and the love he shared with those around him. His life was a testament to resilience, loyalty, and the power of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Romana Rocha; His late wife Mary Rocha; His three brothers, Joe Rocha, Nick Rocha, and Gilbert Rocha; nephew, Michael Rocha.
John is survived by his daughter Michelle and husband Allen Startz, and two sons, Johnny Ramirez Jr. and wife Emma, Mark Ramirez and wife Janelle. His sister Josie Moreno and husband Joe Moreno, brother Larry (Lalo) Rocha; his grandchildren John David Rocha and wife Jessica, Lourdes and Joe Becerra, Allen Startz Jr, Tatum Ramirez, Mark Ramirez Jr., Austin Eaves and wife Sarah, Kristin Quinones and husband Luis, Amanda Ramirez, Julie Woodard, Jerilyn Woodard and husband Shane Hall, Christa Etheridge and husband Brad, twenty-five great grandchildren, and other nieces and nephews.
