She was 93 years old, a remarkable age that bore witness to a life rich in love, accomplishment, and grace. Juanita entered this world on August 1, 1931, in Pleasant Plains, Illinois, to proud parents Van Eugene and Velma Lee Brewer, who instilled in her the values of hard work and dedication.
A distinguished student, Juanita graduated first in her class from high school, a milestone that she accomplished as the first on her mother’s side of the family. This early achievement reflected her tenacity and commitment to excellence, traits that would carry her through a lifetime filled with passion and purpose.
In 1982, Juanita made the move to College Station, a decision that changed her life forever. She instantly fell in love with Aggieland, forming everlasting connections within a vibrant community that welcomed her with open arms. Among her many interests, Juanita had a special affection for breeding Pomeranian dogs, a hobby that brought her immense joy. These beloved pups became an extension of her warmth and love, brightly complementing her life.
Juanita's life, though filled with the beauty of many cherished moments, was marked by profound sorrow with the passing of her beloved husband, Don Bailey, and her daughter, Janet. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Jim and Donald Brewer. Despite these losses, Juanita’s legacy lives on through her family, who carry her spirit forward.
