Juanita Sue Doyle

August 30, 1955 — August 1, 2025

College Station, Texas

Juanita Sue Doyle, a beloved mother, grandmother, and devoted wife, left this world on August 1, 2025, in Bryan, Texas after a brave seven-month battle with a lung disease. Born on August 30, 1955, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Juanita, lovingly known as "Sue" to friends and family, was an everlasting light in the lives she touched.

A proud graduate of Brookland High School in 1973, Juanita pursued her education further at a junior college for two years before embarking on a lifetime dedicated to nurturing her family and supporting her husband, W.C. Doyle, whom she cherished for 52 wonderful years. As a stay-at-home mom, she poured her heart into raising her two daughters, Courtney DeVries and Sarah Doyle, and found joy in being there for them at every milestone. Her love extended beyond her immediate family; her granddaughter Hayden and grandson Zachary DeVries were among her greatest joys, and she took immense pride in her role as a grandmother.

Juanita's spirit was vibrant, and her personality was that of pure warmth and connection. With an uncanny ability to turn strangers into friends, she was often affectionately dubbed "Telephone Sue" for her talent for engaging everyone in conversation. A devoted cat lady, she famously shared her home with three beloved felines: Molly, Mitzi, and Lucy. Her zest for life was evident in her passions, particularly during the Christmas season when she delighted in both collecting nutcrackers and sharing joyous moments gazing at holiday lights.

The memories of her adventurous spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her. Perhaps one of the most cherished tales is of the night she and her husband, along with her brother, undertook a whimsical escapade to procure a floor-to-ceiling Christmas tree—only to discover, much to their surprise, that their chosen tree was a majestic fifteen feet tall, unlikely to fit in their cozy eight-foot-ceilinged home! It is these laughter-filled instances that will be eternally remembered.

Juanita’s commitment to her community shone brightly as well. Serving as a leader for Girl Scout Troop 204 in Dallas for seven years, she inspired countless young girls, instilling in them the same values of love and service that guided her own life.

She leaves behind a loving circle that includes her cherished husband, W.C. Doyle; daughters Courtney, married to Kevin, and Sarah; grandchildren Hayden and Zachary; beloved mother-in-law Faye "Nanny" Townsend; bonus daughter Sabrina Volens and many other family members; all of whom were blessed by her unwavering support and affection.

Juanita’s journey was also deeply intertwined with the adventures of her military life as a devoted Air Force wife, during which she spent two and a half years living in San Vito, Italy. Throughout her life, she balanced the joys of family with the challenges of relocation, always embodying resilience and grace.

While she has joined her beloved deceased family members, including her father Thomas "Papa" Davidson, her mother Juanita "Momo" Davidson, and brothers Larry "Uncle Larry" Davidson and James "Unk" Davidson, her legacy of love will continue to inspire all who knew her.

In celebrating Juanita Sue Doyle, we honor a life lived courageously, devotedly, and joyously—a life that, much like her beloved Christmas traditions, brought warmth, laughter, and togetherness to all around her.
