Kerry (Smiley) Randell Giblin was born on February 14, 1960, in Houston, Texas. After a long career as a mechanic at Chalk’s Truck Parts, Kerry met Angela in 2019 and moved to the country in Iola, where he eventually retired.
In his retirement, Kerry cherished his time in the shop, fishing, hunting, gardening, and enjoying the company of his friends and family. He loved his life in the country, often spending hours visiting with neighbors or watching the roadrunners in his yard, always finding awe in nature.
On July 5, 2026, our Lord called Kerry home. He passed peacefully at his home in Iola, Texas, in the presence of his wife and family. Throughout his long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Kerry remained strong in his faith and refused to give up, finding comfort in the knowledge that God had bigger plans. He will be forever loved and remembered, and his family and friends will take comfort in knowing they now have an angel in Heaven watching over them.
Kerry is survived by his wife, Angela Rendek-Giblin; his daughters, Cassy Pehl (Jeremy) and Jennifer Giblin (Kevin Uplinger); and his step-daughter, Lacey Soto (Christopher). He was a proud grandfather to Angelena and Azariaha. He also leaves behind his brothers, Mike Giblin and Kenneth Giblin; his sisters, Billie Anderson, Beth Pearce, and Debbie Casey; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marci Mae Bess; father, Dewey Raymond Giblin; brother, Raymond Giblin; and sister, Patricia Giblin.
