Obituary

Kevin Anderholm, 42, of Houston, TX, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at his home.

Born in Houston to Fred "Jay" Anderholm and Cheryl Anderholm, Kevin was raised in College Station, Texas. During his childhood, he was active in Boy Scouts and orchestra, and was an avid member of the high school debate team. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout and carried a lifelong commitment to service. Kevin faced congenital vision challenges throughout his life, which he worked hard to overcome, eventually gaining the independence and confidence to drive. Kevin graduated from Southwestern University with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and later earned a Master's degree in Taxation from Baylor University.

After several years working as a CPA, Kevin felt called to education and returned to Lamar University to earn a Master's degree in Educational Administration. He went on to teach 6th grade in Magnolia ISD before combining his passions for finance and education. He served as Controller for Yellowstone Schools and most recently as Director of Finance (West Division) for Houston ISD.

While Kevin was deeply committed to his professional work, his greatest priority was his family. He was a devoted son who loved his parents beyond measure and a caring and thoughtful uncle that was deeply loved by his nieces and nephews. His church community was an important part of his life, where he built meaningful friendships that provided him with comfort and support.

Throughout his life, Kevin found joy in many things. He loved country western dancing, and held a special place in his heart for Wild West Houston long after it closed. He loved the rodeo, volunteering over the past few years and enjoying all of the perks that came along with being an official volunteer. He was a loyal Astros fan. Above all, Kevin was the keeper of family traditions – making sure Christmas movies were watched, the traditional meals were prepared, and time together was cherished. He had a deep emotional sensitivity and a strong sense of empathy, often feeling the weight of the world while still showing up with care for others.

Kevin is survived by his parents, Fred "Jay" and Cheryl Anderholm of College Station, TX, his brother Ricky Anderholm and wife Erin of Montgomery, TX, his sister Rebecca Williams and husband Charlie of Milwaukee, WI, his grandma Betty Kolkedy of Jacksonville, FL, his nephews Henry, Noah, and Caleb, and his nieces Lucy and Bonnie.

Kevin is deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2nd at 10:00am at Christ Church in College Station, TX.
