LaWeta Diane Franklin, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, departed from this world on December 31, 2025, in Bryan, Texas. Born on December 8, 1939, in Ratcliff, Texas. LaWeta led a life filled with warmth, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved. She dedicated her professional years to hospital environmental services, where her work was a testament to her dedication to providing a safe and welcoming environment for others until her retirement.
In 1955, LaWeta met Don Beebe who was serving in the United States Air Force at the time. LaWeta and Don went on to have two children, Danny and Jim. When Don's time in the military came to a close, they ended up moving their family back to Springfield, NY. Later, Don and LaWeta ended up parting ways and she moved back to Texas where she permanently resided. Little did she know, God had great things in store for her. LaWeta met a gentleman by the name of James William Franklin Sr. and she fell head over heals in love, they both did. The two married and had two sons James Jr and Patrick. James and LaWeta shared a beautiful life together until James was welcomed into the arms of the Lord in 2005.
LaWeta was known for her outgoing personality and infectious spirit. She often opened her doors wide and filled her home with an inviting atmosphere, always eager to feed anyone who stepped into her life. Her generosity and kindness were felt deeply by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Whether it was through her delicious meals or her love for shopping, LaWeta brightened the lives of her family and friends with each thoughtful gesture.
She was a proud graduate of Crockett High School, and throughout her life, LaWeta embodied the true essence of family values. She is survived by her devoted sons: James (Bubba) William Franklin Sr, Patrick Lee Franklin, Danny Beebe and his wife Patsy of Springfield, NY, and Jim Beebe and his wife Judy also of Springfield, NY. LaWeta also leaves behind her cherished sister, Jimmie Valda Samuelson of Austin, TX, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of love and compassion.
LaWeta was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Berta Reeves Gentry, her husband, James William Franklin Sr, and her sister, Johnnie (Joan) Gwen Kimiecik. Each of these individuals played a significant role in her life and are remembered fondly by those she leaves behind.
