Linda Ann
Perry
Feb 4, 1947 — Sep 22, 2026
Bryan, TX
Linda Ann Perry, 79, of Bryan, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in Bryan. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center in Bryan, Texas.
Linda was born on February 4, 1947, in Caldwell, Texas, to Frank C. and Viola (Vavra) Skrabanek. She was baptized and confirmed at New Tabor Brethren Church in Caldwell and attended Caldwell schools.
Growing up in Burleson County, Linda enjoyed dancing, country music, and listening to her daddy play country music on various instruments. She also enjoyed helping with chores around the family home, including gardening, canning, and caring for the chickens. These simple parts of country life remained fond memories throughout her life.
Linda was the mother of two children, Michael and Michelle. She held various jobs over the years, but spent much of her working life as a sales associate at Circle K, Handi Stop, and Max Express. Through her work, she came to know many people and enjoyed visiting with those she encountered.
In her later years, as her health began to decline, Linda found joy in the things and people she loved most. She enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers and the Aggies, working crossword puzzles, visiting with friends, and talking on the phone with those she loved. Most of all, she cherished the time she was able to spend with her family.
Linda faced a long and difficult battle with diabetes, kidney disease, and numerous other health challenges. Throughout it all, she showed tremendous strength and determination. As her health declined, she became increasingly dependent on others—something her independent spirit did not always make easy for her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Frank C. and Viola Skrabanek; her partner, Frank Schultz; and her grandson, Justin Daw.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lisa (Koehler) Light of Somerville; her daughter, Michelle (Light) Hicks of Bryan; her sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Howard Chapman of Caldwell; and her brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Susan Skrabanek of Caldwell. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brian Daw and his wife, Beth, of Bryan; Tyler Daw and his wife, Shayna, of Woodville, Texas; Jazlynn Gomez; and Leighton Light and his wife, Rylee, of Guthrie, Oklahoma. Linda's great-grandchildren include Bailey Daw, Landon Daw, Easton Daw, Lane Light, Hattie Light, David Arellano, and soon-to-be Julianna Deleon. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Linda will be remembered for her strength, resilience, independent spirit, and love for her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, and her memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Linda's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful caregivers and staff at Avir in Bryan for the kindness, compassion, and care they provided to her. The family would also like to give a very special thank you to Sara Daw for the many ways she cared for and supported Linda throughout the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the New Tabor Brethren Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 262, Caldwell, Texas 77836.
