Margaret, affectionately known to most as Maggie, passed away peacefully on 26 May, 2025 at home. She was born on 27 April, 1951, in Harlingen, TX, to Lee Gilbert Waller, Sr, and Rebecca Edith (Meneley) Waller. Maggie married Gary Lee Russell on 6 August 1971, in the small chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in San Marcos Texas. They were sealed in the Phoenix Arizona Temple on 19 January 1972. At the end of that January, Gary enlisted into the US Air Force. During his 20 years in the Air Force, Maggie worked raising three children and occasionally as an office manager and assistant. She loved children. Her most treasured church callings were teaching in Primary and the Young Women’s program. Maggie was strong willed; stubbornly defiant of her physical, mental, and emotional difficulties. She was rewarded with a peaceful passing and relief from all that. She is survived by her husband Gary, sisters Rebecca Christine (Waller) Taylor, and Emily Susanne (Waller) Smith; her two sons James Matthew Russell, Christopher Lee Russell and daughter Sarah Leigh (Russell) Hughes, and adopted son Richard William Russell; grandchildren Ashley (Rives) Bass, Maggie (Russell) Anderson, Ashlynn Russell, Alex Russell, Joseph Rives and Matthew Pierson; great grandchildren, Liam Sowell, Riley Anderson, Wyatt Evans, Caroline Anderson, and Shawn Rives along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by both her parents and her brother, Lee Gilbert Waller, Jr.
Maggie’s memorial service will be held on 22 June 2025 at the LDS church, on the corner of Welch Ave and Deacon Dr, in College Station, Texas, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m.
