Obituary

Mark Anthony Solis, 53 passed away on Saturday July 4, 2026. Mark was born in Bryan, TX to Jesse and Cynthia Muñoz Solis on July 16, 1972. Mark was a loyal, devoted employee at Ruffino Meats for 27 years and was forced to retire due to his kidney failure and dialysis treatments, but despite his health issues Mark stayed positive and fought all the way to the end to try and qualify for a kidney/liver transplant.

Mark is lovingly survived by his Daughter Alyssa and Pedro Monterrosa, Son Marcus Solis and Genesis Soto, Beloved grandchildren Alice Monterrosa, Pedro Monterrosa III, Marcus Solis Jr., and Mahlani Solis. Brother Nick Solis, Nieces Makalyne Solis, Makenzie Solis, and Paisleigh Solis, Grandfather Ben Rios, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory and carry his legacy forward

Mark is preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Cynthia Solis, Grandparents Prudencia and Benito Solis, Pete Muñoz and Janie Muñoz Rios, as well as numerous uncles, cousins, and friends.

Mark had a lifelong passion for sports. Growing up he played baseball for Little League West as well as at Bryan High School, his love for the game remained with him throughout his life. He was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees, Texas A&M football and baseball, Dallas Cowboys, and the Los Angeles Lakers. Cheering on his favorite teams brought him great joy and was something he loved sharing with family and friends. He loved playing basketball, horseshoes, camping, floating the Frio river, and just spending time with all his cousins and friends.

Mark loved his family more than anything and was a proud PoPo of 4 grandkids that brought immense happiness to his life.
