IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol
King
February 23, 1934 – January 29, 2026
Carol King passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026 in Bryan, Texas, just four months following the passing of beloved husband of 73 years, Guy D. King, Jr.
Martha Carol Simons King was born in Ft. Worth, Texas, the only child of Guy O. Simons and Albert (Moore) Simons. Carol graduated from Arlington Heights High School and attended SMU as a Music major, where she was a proud member of Phi Beta Pi.
On July 19, 1952, Carol married the love of her life Guy D. King, Jr. of Waco, Texas. The two of them embarked on a lifetime adventure that included a love of travel, tropical beaches, and, of course, Texas A&M Football. Creativity was woven throughout Carol’s life. She expressed her artistic gifts through music, needlepoint, painting, and her work as an interior designer.
A proud “Phi Pi” for life, charity and community involvement was always an important part of Carol’s life. This was perhaps best exemplified by her support of Project ABC in San Antonio, Texas. Carol co-founded the Any Baby Can Alliance to raise funds and awareness for Project ABC to support special needs children and their families. Later in life, she particularly enjoyed her time with the Cook Children’s Medical Center Gift Shop in Ft. Worth, Texas. Carol was also an active member of the Waco Junior League.
Carol is survived by her three sons, David R. King of London, England, Stephen S. King of San Clemente, California, Andrew W. King of Dallas, Texas, along with her two grandsons, two granddaughters, and four great-granddaughters.
