Patsy Jean Murillo

September 17, 1941 — March 17, 2026

College Station, Texas

Patsy Jean Murillo, age 84, of College Station, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 17th at St. Joseph Health Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Patsy was born in Galveston, Texas, on September 17, 1941 to Morris O. and Mary Pucar Anonsen. While attending Dominican High School in Galveston, Patsy caught the eye of a young male co-ed, Mike Murillo, who attended the neighboring Kirwin High School. It was love at first sight! After dating for several years, the two married on January 28, 1961 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Galveston. Upon marrying, Patsy joined Mike in College Station, Texas, so that he could complete his studies at the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas (now Texas A&M University).

Patsy (and Mike) lived and raised their children in Houston, Texas, before retiring and returning to College Station in 2003. They built a home in the community of Pebble Creek and fully immersed themselves in the culture of Texas A&M and all that it offers. Patsy was a proud Aggie fan and enjoyed flashing a “Gig’em” to all! The two recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary before Patsy’s sudden passing.

In addition to being a devoted wife and homemaker, Patsy was a beloved mother of two daughters, Jennifer Bachik of Waco, Texas, and Dawn Bush, of Richmond, Texas. She was also a doting “MeMe” to six wonderful grandchildren: Krystle Murillo, Taylor Bush Janise (Blaine), Lane Bush, Daylan Bachik, Jacob Bush, and Lauran Bachik; and, one great-grandchild, Blaine Colt Janise. Patsy was also blessed to have two sons-in-law in her life, Brian Bachik and David Bush.

Patsy is preceded in death by her beloved parents, nephew Cameron Anonsen, uncles, and several aunts who were like sisters to her. In addition to the love of her life, Mike Murillo, and her daughters and their families, Patsy is also survived by her younger brother Richard (Rick) Anonsen of Galveston, Texas, and his wife, Laurie, two nephews, Ricky Anonsen (and his wife, Rachel) and Kevin Anonsen (and his wife, Whitney), her Aunt Tashi Heffernan, and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Patsy will be greatly missed by all who dearly loved her. We are thankful that she was part of our lives and will forever cherish her memory! A small, private memorial and celebration of life will be held at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center in Bryan, Texas, on Saturday, April 25th. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that individuals consider making a donation in her honor to Acara Hospice Foundation (601 Graham Rd., College Station, TX 77845) or other worthy charity of your choice.
