Richard Miller

Richard Stebbins Miller, fondly known as "Dick," passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, in College Station, Texas at the age of 90. Born on December 4, 1934 in Medina, Ohio, Dick was the beloved son of Russell and Virginia (Stebbins) Miller (both deceased).

Dick married his beloved wife, Janet Stanley Miller (deceased) on September 3, 1965 with whom he shared many joyful years. Together they built a family rooted in mutual love and respect.

Dick lived with quiet wisdom and traditional values that made him a pillar to his family and friends. Using his love of mathematics Dick brought dedication and integrity to his lifelong career as an Actuary. Beyond his profession, Dick’s true joy came from time spent with his loved ones, sailing on Cedar Creek Lake, traveling and cruising with family, reading and studying military strategy, and playing bridge and other cards games.

He is survived by his children: Sherry Norman Wine (Bobby), Shellie Norman Cornelius, and Marty Norman (Dianna), who will forever treasure his guidance and unconditional love. In addition, he is lovingly remembered by his brothers, Tom Miller of Savannah, Georgia and family, and Dan Miller (Becky) of Tallahassee, Florida and family. He is also survived by his grandchildren, John Wine (Courtney), James Wine, Whitney Wine, Leigh Anne Cornelius Jones (Ryan), Laura Norman, Richard Norman (Ellen), and Sarah Norman Wehsener (Chase), and great grandchildren Maddox, Abram, Eli, Ian, Sasha, Stetson, Winnie and Woods.

Dick will be remembered not only for his sharp mind and speaking candidly, but also for the love and steadiness he brought to the relationships in his life. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and in the countless lives he touched.

A private gathering with immediate family will be held September 6, 2025 to celebrate Richard’s life. Interment and a graveside service will take place at a later date at the Buckner Family Cemetery near Pine Hill, Texas.
