Obituary

Ricky Layne Waggoner was the fifth child born to Carroll Waggoner and Daisy Hicks in Abilene, TX. Shortly thereafter, his family relocated to Hobbs, New Mexico, where they spent about 15-years. His family moved to Bryan College Station (BCS) in 1972. He attended A&M Consolidated High School, where he lettered in football all four years.

Rick was a 16-year employee of Texas Document Solutions where he served as the Dispatch and Inventory Manager. As an entrepreneur, he had Rick’s Taxi Service and served a number of regular clients in the BCS area.

An avid sports fan, Rick held season tickets for A&M Consolidated High School Tigers Football for 30+ years and would attend their home games regularly. He also followed Texas A&M football closely.

A proud Aggie father, Rick is survived by his much-beloved daughter, Brittany of Woodlands, TX and his much-beloved son Brandon of Round Rock, TX. He was the adoring pet parent to Thor, Raven and Daisy and loved his Granddogger Delilah. He is also survived by his four older siblings Fred of San Antonio, Texas; Carroll and Janet Waggoner of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Lorinda and Jack Adams of Fort Worth, Texas; Patricia and Robert Castillo of Brenham, TX as well as a host of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.

Rick was raised in the Church of Christ and knew The Lord.

He was predeceased by his parents Carroll and Daisy Waggoner.

Also known as “Uber Rick” and “Mr. Swaggoner”, Rick always had a smile on his face. He was sweet, caring, and kind and would give anything - even if he just met you - even the shirt off his own back. If you looked up the word friend in the dictionary, Rick’s picture would be there.
