Obituary

Robert “Bobby” Jolly, born October 3, 1964, passed away on August 27, 2026.

Bobby built his life around hard work, ingenuity, and the relationships he treasured most. He grew up working in the family business and, in time, ventured out on his own. An entrepreneur at heart, he owned several businesses over the years, with Jolly Doors becoming his final business venture. Through his work, he and his father left a lasting legacy of knowledge in the door and hardware industry.

He was known as a hardworking, giving, caring, and kind man who did things his own way until the very end. Bobby made friends wherever he went, and his presence was one that people remembered. He enjoyed visiting his father and talking shop with him up until his father’s passing last year, a bond that reflected both family devotion and a shared passion for their work. He was, in every sense, a true “Jolly” IYKYK!

Bobby was also a man of curiosity and talent. He was very smart and ingenuitive, with a natural inclination to take things apart just to see how they worked—or to make them better. That hands-on spirit shaped not only his work, but the way he moved through life. He had once hoped to enlist in the military, but an unfortunate motorcycle accident prevented him from pursuing that path.

Outside of work, Bobby found joy in simple, meaningful pleasures. He loved fishing on the river, competing in BBQ cookoffs, hanging out with friends, and playing dominos. He also dearly loved his two dogs, Bobby Jo and Billy Bob, who were part of the daily rhythm of his life and brought him great companionship.

He is survived by his sons, Joshua Jolly and Jonathan Jolly and his spouse Jennifer; his sisters, Rhonda Smith and her spouse, Lonnie, and Krissa Coonse and her spouse, David. He was preceded in death by his father, Joel Jolly Jr., and his mother, Evelyn Jolly.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on September 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory, 3001 S College Ave, Bryan, Texas 77801. A Celebration of Life will follow there from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Bobby Jolly will be remembered for his sharp mind, generous heart, independent spirit, and the many friendships he made along the way. His legacy lives on in his family, in the work of his hands, and in the many lives he touched.
