Ruth Snyder, 94, of Bryan, Texas, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in the comfort of her home. Her passing, from natural causes, marked the end of a beautiful, long and faith-filled life. Ruth was born on April 30, 1931, in Galesburg, Illinois, to Bert and Lillian (Johnson) Ingraham and was a graduate of Galesburg Senior High School. At the age of 14, she met her one and only true love, Everett D. Snyder, at the local skating rink, where their unforgettable love story began. Ruth and Everett's more than half-century together was defined by their Presbyterian faith, adventure, dedication, and deep family commitment. As his steadfast partner, Ruth supported Everett's ambition by moving their family frequently, residing in numerous places throughout Illinois, Indiana and Texas, before retiring and establishing their permanent roots in Bryan in 1997. Ruth was a constant and devoted presence in the lives of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, leaving a legacy that encompassed deep faith, positive resilience, and boundless, unconditional love. Dedicated wholeheartedly to her role as a mother, Ruth's primary focus was raising her children. Once they were grown, she pursued a career in real estate with Century 21 and eventually owned her own successful brokerage. Ruth loved to immerse herself in books and cherished every moment with her family, which often involved competitive games of Scrabble (where she was known to be the reigning champion), singing, baking, playing with her great-grandchildren, and watching movies. Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Everett Dwight Snyder; her daughter, Julia Marie Hildebrand; her parents, Bert and Lillian Ingraham; her brother, Gerald (Margaret) Ingraham; her sister, Nora (Larry) Groff; and her sister Nancy (Richard) Blevins. She is survived by a loving and extensive family, including her children: Son, Steve (Jonita) Snyder of Houston; Son, Rick (Deborah English) Snyder of Bryan; Daughter, Linda (Bill) Campbell of Bourbonnais, Ill., and Son-in-law Andrew Hildebrand of Oakdale, Pa. Her loving legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Grandchildren include: Michael Stalnos; Doug (Natalie Salazar) Stalnos; Sarah (Jogabriel) Castañeda; Laura (Aaron Wild) Snyder; Jill (Matt) Schultz; Nick (Kirsten) Stalnos; Samantha (Will) Pierce; Neil Snyder; Carly Hildebrand; Rachel Hildebrand; Hannah (Nathan) Bowers; and Brandon Campbell. Great-Grandchildren include: Abigail Stalnos, Ixchel Stalnos, Everett Schultz, Emily Schultz, Brayden Peters, Nathan Snyder, Gabriella Castañeda, Cecilia Pierce, Claudia Bowers, and Caleb Bowers. She will be dearly missed by her nieces - Kathy (Ron) Custer, Janet (Steve) Ricketts, Karen (Mike) Herting, and Carol (Mark) Danielson - and extended family and friends including Wendy Mockus, Elizabeth Peters, Theodore Stalnos, Judah Israel, and Julie (Bob) Evans. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to HealthQuest, ACARA, and ACARA Hospice for the loving, compassionate care provided to Ruth in her home, which ensured she remained comfortably there until the end. Arrangements are under the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home & Crematory in Bryan.
