Shannon Denise Fisher was born on June 27, 1969 in Baltimore, Maryland to Tom and Beverly Stricker while Tom was serving our country. Not long after her birth, the family relocated back home to Deer Park, Texas. Shannon was a girlie girl since she could walk with beautiful blonde hair and green eyes, often seen carrying a purse to kindergarten class. Tom and Beverly welcomed their second child, Michael Paul Stricker in 1974. Shannon graduated high school from Deer Park High School in 1987 and furthered her education by attending San Jacinto College and later obtaining a Bachelor of Finance degree from University of Houston. Shannon married Joseph Fisher in July 1996 and had two sons, Sheldon Thomas Fisher in January 1998 and Dawson Joseph Fisher in May 2000. Shannon worked at Associated Credit Union, Service Transport, and San Jacinto Credit Union before becoming a full time Homemaker. Shannon devoted her whole life to taking care of her two boys and husband. She was a people-pleaser and always put others happiness before her own. Shannon had a habit of taking in kids while the boys were younger and feeding and caring for them, many till this day still refer to her as a second mother. Shannon loved animals and after moving to the country near Bryan, Texas in 2018, she soon started saving all the dogs she could and spoiling each one of them. She also cared for her sons’ cattle, naming every one of them, and adopted a donkey named Jack. After Shannon was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2023, she fought a long battle before succumbing to the illness September 6, 2025. She will be greatly missed by many for her kind soul and caring nature.
Shannon is survived by her Husband, Joseph; two sons, Sheldon Fisher and Dawson (Brittani) Fisher; 1 future grandchild; Dad and Mom, Tom (Beverly) Stricker; brother, Michael (Michelle) Stricker; Mother in-law, Wanda Harris; numerous Sister/Brother in-laws, Aunts/Uncles, and Nieces/Nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Aggieland Humane Society to honor the animals Shannon loved dearly.
