William
Broussard
July 29, 1949 – May 16, 2026
William "Bill" Frank Broussard , 76, of Killeen, Texas, passed away on May 16, 2026. He was born on July 29, 1949, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Roy and Evelyn Broussard. Bill was a 1967 graduate of Landry Memorial High School in Lake Charles, where he was a proud member of the 1965 State Championship football team. He went on to attend LSU, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Following his passion for healthcare, Bill attended nursing school in Houston, Texas, and became a Registered Nurse. His distinguished career included working in Nuclear Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center for many years. Bill was not only a dedicated caretaker but also a sharp innovator; during his time there, he designed and built a specialized piece of equipment that optimized hospital operations and saved the institution significant resources.
A true Renaissance man, Bill possessed a boundless curiosity and an extraordinary array of talents. He was passionate about astronomy, land surveying, clock making, Civil War re-enactments, falconry, sharpshooting, target shooting, archery, and playing war games. An avid outdoorsman and adventurer, he loved camping, hiking, gardening, cooking, and scuba diving. He even took to the skies, finding great joy in flying and refurbishing airplanes, and spent hours meticulously collecting and crafting miniature soldiers.
Yet, of all his adventures and impressive accolades, Bill’s proudest accomplishment in life was his son, Victor. Bill loved nothing more than being a father. He cherished every moment they spent together, from the simple days of watching Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer three times a day when Victor was three years old, to the grand adventure of hiking all the way to the bottom of the Grand Canyon together. Bill is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marguerite Corbello, his son, Victor Broussard, and daughter-in-law, Karen; and his three cherished grandchildren, Ariana, Gabrielle, and Cristian. He also leaves behind his seven brothers and sisters: Pete Broussard (Mimi) of Coos Bay, Oregon; Jack Broussard of Youngsville, Louisiana; Elly Bercier (Rick), Kathy Rock, Tom Broussard (Dannie), Angela LeMaire, and Gigi Gruspier (Jeff), all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Evelyn Broussard.
