Obituary

Dr. William Neal Kruger Jr., age 66, of Mathis, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 19th, 2026 in The Woodlands, Texas.

Born on June 18th, 1959 to Carolyn “Cally” Johnson Kruger and William Neal Kruger Sr. “Bill”, Neal went on to become a dedicated, hardworking man and father of great integrity. He attended the University of Texas where he majored in biology, then finished his education at the University of Texas Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. Neal then became a dentist in Houston, Texas and later moved to College Station, Texas where he opened his practice. Neal cared deeply for his patients and felt great pride in his calling as a healer. He approached his work with humility, empathy, and kindness.

Neal was a devout Christian, and had a strong and steady relationship with God. His faith was truly unshakeable. He was a committed father and placed immense value in his role as a dad. He loved being with his three children, his granddaughter, family, and friends. Neal had a great love for the outdoors, specifically hunting. He was always on the lookout for a “trophy buck”, and felt the closest to God when he was surrounded by nature. Neal especially loved the Texas Hill Country, and spending time in Concan, Texas. His favorite place was the Frio River, where he first learned to swim. He also enjoyed fishing, playing golf, cooking, and eating good food.

Neal is survived by his son, William Neal Kruger III “Tres”, his oldest daughter, Kenedi Gail Sevcik, his youngest daughter, Presli Lorraine Kruger, his son-in-law, Tyler Sevcik, his granddaughter, Charli Kaye Sevcik, the mother of his children, Shelli Kruger, his sister, Karlene “Kally” Robbins, his nephews, Sam Robbins and Blake Robbins, his niece, Rebecca Robbins McLendon, and numerous nieces and nephews. Neal’s final moments were met with peace and great faith to be reunited with Jesus.
