William Mc Auliffe's Obituary

William James Mc Auliffe, a man whose life was a grand tapestry woven with adventure, love, and unwavering faith, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026, in League City, Texas, at the age of 79. After a courageous seven-year battle with cancer, he transitioned surrounded by the tender presence of his children and grandchildren, embraced by the everlasting light of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Born on January 21, 1947, in Manhattan, New York, William, affectionately known as Bill, carried the proud heritage of his Irish immigrant parents, Daniel and Mary Mc Auliffe. He was deeply rooted in the traditions and faith that defined his family. Although they have preceded him in passing—his parents, his mother and father-in-law, Jane and Lee Bouchea, brothers John and Timothy, and sister-in-law Patricia—he carried their legacy forward with great pride and devotion.

Bill’s academic promise blossomed at the Milwaukee School of Engineering in Wisconsin, where he earned his degree as an Electrical Engineer. It was there, as Social Chairman of the Kappa Eta Kappa Engineering Fraternity, that fate intertwined his path with that of his beloved wife, Cassaundra Lee Jane Mc Auliffe. A testament to his charming and charismatic nature, Bill’s introduction to Cassaundra was as endearing as it was simple—taking responsibility for inviting the young ladies to future fraternity gatherings.

His career in the commercial HVAC industry was marked by excellence, wherein he rose through national corporations to serve as a Strategic Account Manager, Director of National Accounts, and ultimately an entrepreneur. The concluding chapter of his professional journey was a heartfelt continuation of family, as he embraced the role of Business Manager for his son’s company and television show, The Texas Bucket List - a fitting capstone to a career built on leadership and vision.

Bill was known within his family as someone people turned to for advice and steady guidance. He had a strong will, balanced with kindness and took pride in being a dependable husband, father and grandfather. His greatest pride was his family. He valued time spent together and enjoyed attending his children’s and grandchildren’s events, celebrating their accomplishments in school, sports, and the arts.

Central to Bill’s existence was his profound Roman Catholic faith. The sacraments, weekly mass, and devotion to God and Jesus Christ were pillars of his daily life—values he imparted earnestly to his family. His commitment to faith was not merely ritual but a compass, guiding his family to walk with strength and encouragement toward the light.

His love for adventure knew no bounds. Whether exploring distant shores with his family on travels or embarking on individual journeys with each loved one, Bill embodied the spirit of exploration. Among his cherished pastimes was the restoration and enjoyment of classic cars, particularly his treasured 1956 Thunderbird. He delighted in sharing this passion, imparting knowledge to any child or grandchild eager to learn about these magnificent machines.

Bill and Cassaundra shared 57 years of marriage. Together, they built a close and supportive family. He is survived by his wife, Cassaundra Lee, with whom he shared a lifelong bond; his children, Shanalee Sharboneau and her husband Pierre, Shannon Mc Auliffe and his wife Gretchen, and Shane Mc Auliffe and his wife Meredith; and his six grandchildren, Braydon Sharboneau, Caitlin Mc Auliffe, Ireland Mc Auliffe, Ciara Mc Auliffe, Declan Mc Auliffe and Harper Mc Auliffe. He is also survived by his brother, Daniel Mc Auliffe and wife, Kathleen, sister-in-law Helen Mc Auliffe, brother-in-law Christopher Boucheau and wife Mary, sister-in-law Pamela Rothe and husband Joe, and sister-in-law Valerie Dary and brother-in-law Shlomo Dary and numerous nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered for his steady presence, his commitment to his family, and the example he set for those around him. His proudest accomplishments are his children and grandchildren, and the enduring legacy he nurtured with unwavering dedication. His guiding hand was instrumental in shaping their paths, instilling confidence and a life well-lived.
