William Wayne Mistretta, 71, of Bryan, Texas, passed away on Friday September 18, 2026, following a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.

William was born on November 26, 1954. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later dedicated 30 years of his life to the Union Pacific Railroad before retiring. Through his years of military and railroad service, William built a life defined by dedication, perseverance, and commitment.

William is survived by his loving wife, Karen Mistretta; his son, Jonathon Mistretta; his daughters, April Graves, Chelsy Mistretta, and Georgia Mistretta; his sisters, Sarah Johnson, Vonnie Silva, and Andrea Mistretta; his brother-in-law, Tom Johnson; and his close friend, Rachel Lee. He is also survived by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry his memory forward for generations to come.

William was preceded in death by Samuel Mistretta, his father; Gertrude Barclay, his mother; his son, Billy Mistretta; his sister, Debbie Baldobino; and his brother, Phillip Mistretta.

William fought a difficult battle with cancer, facing his illness with courage and strength. While his passing leaves a deep sadness for all who loved him, his life was filled with family, service, hard work, and memories that will never be forgotten.

His greatest legacy will be the people he leaves behind—his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends. The lessons he shared, the life he lived, and the memories he created will remain in their hearts.

William will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
