Pat Aldredge Tarver
May 14, 1944-April 25, 2019

Pat Aldredge Tarver, 74, of College Station passed from this life into her Heavenly Home on Thursday, April 25, 2019. She was a Christian in life, deed, and action. Pat was a member of the Benchley Church of Christ. She was born on Mother’s Day, May 14, 1944 to Harry Wilson Aldredge and Mildred Garvin Aldredge in Fort Knox, KY. The family moved to Gilmer, TX where Pat attended Gilmer Schools and graduated a Gilmer Buckeye. She was an Honor Student, Cheerleader, and Jamboree Queen in 1961. Pat graduated from Lamar University with a Degree in Elementary Education and taught Kindergarten in Evandale, TX for 3 years before becoming a full-time stay-at-home Wife, Mother, and Homemaker.

Pat and Bill had 49 wonderful years together. Their love was more than yesterday, less than tomorrow. She was affectionately known as, “Honey”. Pat loved her family more than words can describe. Her holiday meals were legendary. She made the best coconut cake in the world. Those were the best of times for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Millie Aldredge; and her brother, Andy Aldredge.

Pat leaves behind her husband, Bill Tarver; sons and daughters-in-law, David (Laurie) Tarver, Chris (Larrie) Tarver; grandchildren, Angel, Will, and Clay; great-granddaughters, Katherine and Adeline.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pat’s honor to a charity of your choice.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the Ladies at Anointed Home Care and Encompass Hospice for their kind and compassionate care, and to the many Doctors and Nurses throughout the years that helped with Pat’s care.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4th with the Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11 a.m. in the Bluebonnet Chapel of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, 3001 S. College Ave., Bryan, TX. David Watson will be officiating.

Pat Tarver was a bright spot in our congregation. She was thoughtful, spiritually-minded, conscientious, and pleasant to be around. She will be sorely missed for her ability to express love to the rest of us. She was definitely top class. Our condolences to the family, especially to her devoted husband of nearly 50 years.

I am so sorry at Pat’s illness and demise, I loved her as a sister in Christ and enjoyed her presence in our Bible studies. May the family find consolation in her faithfulness and may all the family plan their lives so as to see her again in eternity.

What a hole she leaves here, but what a gift she is to heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and brethren at Benchley. She’s a big part of our years at Benchley, and I’ll always hear her happy voice.

Condolence from John Emerich on May 1st, 2019 12:05 pm

Many a time I was at Bill and Pat’s home, either having spent the night, or just arriving at some pre-dawn hour to meet Chris and Bill for a hunting or fishing trip. Pat would always ensure we had coffee and most often some fresh baked items to warm us up before we left. She was a wonderful woman, a great example of a Christian, and will be missed greatly.

Dear Tarver family,
Just wanted you to know how much I loved Pat all through the years from 5th grade until the present. Our latter years ,due to distance, has been on the phone or email.
She has always been one of my very dearest friends and always will be.
