Roger Morley Weston
April 13, 1928 – February 16, 2019

Roger Weston, 90, of Bryan, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019, in Bryan. A Memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, February 21, 2019, at College Station Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1250 Earl Rudder Freeway. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Roger Morley Weston was born in Syracuse, New York, to Morley Henry Weston and Lela Bessie Brechon, on April 13, 1928 and went to be with his Lord on February 16, 2019. He grew up in the Syracuse, Fulton, Watertown area of northern New York. His parents divorced when he was young and he went with his Mother, his twin brothers, Bill and Jim, with their Dad, but the three boys spent many summers together at their Grandfather Weston’s farm.

He joined the U.S. Navy in 1945, at age 17, and spent the next four years seeing the world, particularly in the Singapore and Panama areas.

Roger married Nancy Elvina Foster in 1960. Both Roger and Nancy’s mothers were daughters of Swiss immigrants who had come to America to work for the Nestle’s Chocolate Company and Roger and Nancy met at a company event. Roger’s uncle, Ernest Brechon, was a leading chemist for Nestle’s.

Two daughters were born to them, Carol Angela in 1961, and Angela Carol in 1965. A son, Stacey Keith Weston, died at birth in 1969. Nancy passed away in 2001.

He held a number of different jobs, drove a taxi, worked at Birdseye Corp., at Carrier Air Conditioners, worked as a security guard, among others.

Roger moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in the mid-1990’s and then to Bryan in 2008.

He loved to write and had many pen pals, but he also wrote poetry, some that were published, and even a full-length science fiction manuscript. He was a rock collector and an avid reader. He was a long time, faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, always very active until just the last few years.

He is survived by his daughters Carol Angela Cean and her two children Shauna and Shaun Chapman, and Angela Carol Rowan, and her two children, Sabrina Rowan Mathis (and her husband Will) and Orville T. “Tommy” Rowan, IV; and his two brothers, James Emile Weston and William Ralph Weston (Joanne). He will be missed by his daughters, his four grandchildren, his two brothers and his many friends.
