Ron Frederick, 85 of College Station Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in College Station, Texas. Ronald was born in Emporia, Kansas on April 3, 1933. His parents, Lester and Ruby Frederick moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where Ron lived and attended school. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force where he served from 1952-1956, two of those years he spent overseas, in Japan. His years in the military prepared him for his lifetime vocation as a radar technician at the Indianapolis airport. In Indiana he raised his four children and was actively involved in church and community activities. Ron retired from the US Department of Transportation in 1988 after serving 34 years.

After his retirement, Ron moved to Tucson, Arizona where he spent several years involved in church and community activities as well as music, theater genealogy, camping, hiking and travel. He loved square dancing, round dancing and traveling to other states to attend dance festivals. He also enjoyed movies and plays, even taking part as an extra in movies filed near Tucson.

It was in Tucson that he met Madalyn at a local square dance club. They married in July of 2004 and moved to College Station shortly thereafter. The both continued to enjoy travel, square and round dancing as well as ballroom dance and OPAS as well as many other community activities. Madalyn and Ron were both members of Christ United Methodist Church and Millican United Methodist Church and actively supported the ministries and activities of both churches, especially in music.

Ron is preceded in death by his two sisters, Shirley Brunt and Sheila Wasch of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is survived by his sister, Winona Frederick of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and by his four children and grandchildren; Ray Frederick, his wife Lisa, and their son, Nathan of Chicago, Illinois; Julie Frederick and her children Audrey and Anna of Portland, Oregon; Randy Frederick and his wife Kathy and their children Alex and Jillian; Jeannie Frederick and her children Marcus and Sage, also of Portland, Oregon.

He will be remembered and missed dearly by his wife, Madalyn Allan Frederick of College Station, Texas as well as his extended family; Barbara Hannes daughter and her husband Konrad of College Station, Texas as well as Sara Fontes, daughter and her children Lauren, Drake and Alexandra also of College Station; son David Allen of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Ron may be made to United Methodist Church of Millican – 22029 Kathy Fleming Road, Millican, Texas 77866. For memorial service flowers and plants please contact Rev. Heather Leyland at 337-499-7197 for delivery arrangements.

A life celebration for Ron will be held at United Methodist Church on Saturday March 16, 2019 at 2:00pm. Everyone is invited to join the family for refreshments following the services in the Fellowship Hall. Cremation services are in care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers of Bryan/College Station, Texas.
