Ruby Joyce Macek

December 31, 1932 – May 23, 2008

Ruby Joyce Macek, 75, of Bryan, passed away Friday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. Memorial services will be held at a later date at Llano Cemetery.

She was a resident of Bryan for 40 years and worked as a nurse prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

Survivors include her husband, John Macek, of Bryan; son and daughter-in-law, John John and Trina Macek, of Bryan; daughters and son-in-law, Candy and Johnny Kokernot of Valley Spring, Constance Thompson, Cheryl Velez and Cherry Graniger, all of Llano; brother, William Ahrlett, of Kingsland; sister, Betty Sue James, of Buchanan Dam; and four grandsons,Nathan Flint, Colby and wife, Brandie McCormick, Luciano Velez and Chandler Macek.

  1. To express our deep sympathy to you on your loss of your wife – mother. John thank you for serving our country in the U.S. Army during the Persian Gulf War. Because of you – other young men – women we have our freedom in this great country. May God’s Speed Be With Ruby.
