Russell Ensey


Russell Ensey, 24, of Bryan, passed away Wednesday December 26, 2018. Family and friends are
invited to a time of visitation from 5 to 7pm Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Callaway-Jones
Funeral Center, 3001 S College Ave in Bryan. His life will be celebrated at 10am Friday, January
4 at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center, with interment following at Bryan City Cemetery.
Russell was born July 6, 1994, in Bryan, Texas, to Roger Commander and Lisa Grimes. He has
lived in this area for his lifetime. Russell truly enjoyed spending time with his family and
working on his trucks. He will also be remembered for his love for animals and hunting and
fishing.
Survivors include his parents, Lisa Grimes, and Roger Commander and wife Lori; fiance,
Chrisleigh Derouen; brothers, Corey Grimes and wife Tiffany, Roger Commander Jr, Matthew
Commander; sisters, Skylar Ensey, Amber Clark and husband Roger, Kimberly Commander,
Kristian Commander, Leah Dummer and husband Skylar, Elizabeth and Alanna Commander;
grandparents, Barbara and Rick Ensey, Mark and Mildred Wollersheim; his closest nephew,
Rylan Aguilar, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Betty Parie, and his uncle David Russ.

  3. Our deepest sympathy to the mother and family of Russell. We did not know him personally but he gave a good speech at Corey and Tiffany’s wedding. We are Tiffany’s grandparents and we hurt for Corey and Tiffany and you Lisa.

  4. We are missing Russell and praying for his family. He was a special young man with many talents. We were overjoyed when he asked our daughter to marry him. We will always remember the sweet way he loved her.

  5. Russell, we are missing you terribly. You were always so sweet to our girls. You were always helpful with what Chrisleigh needed, my dad needed, even my Grandpa needed. You were so respectful to me… Calling me ma’am even though I was about to become your sister. It made me laugh inside. We always saw how much you cared for Chrisleigh. I don’t know why you had to leave us so soon. We will always love you and make sure the girls know who you were.

    Praying for all of Russell’s family and friends. We were so excited for him to marry my sister and join our family.
