Ruth Mae White went to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 6, 2008. Visitation is set for Tuesday, July 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, at High Prairie Cemetery in Madison County, Texas.

She was born on March 31, 1919 in Madison County, Texas to Guy Raymond Smith and Lillian Cole Smith. Ruth was a life long member of Central Baptist Church where she was active in her Sunday School class, Triple L, Vacation Bible School, and the Easter Pageant. She worked for Humpty Dumpty Daycare for many yearts. She then worked for BISD in Food Services until she retired in 1999.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Delma R. White, of Bryan; brother, Glenn Smith, of Bryan; sister, Earline Wilson, of Kurten and daughter-in-law, Merle Hicks White, of Bryan.

Survivors include a brother, Marlin Smith of Benbrook, Texas; son, Delma Earl White, of Bryan; daughters, Marlene Lippke and husband, Rolf of Conroe and Paula Schehin, of Kurten; grandsons, Kenneth E. White and wife, Rhonda, Robert White and wife, Amy, all of Bryan, Martin Schehin, of Kurten and Richard E. Lippke of Spring; granddaughters, Polly White Saculla and husband, Johnny of Bryan, Kristy White Cheatham and husband, Justin of Bryan, Stephanie Schehin Lapko and husband, Larry of Spring, Whitney Lippke Donalson and husband Jason of Pearland; great-grandchildren, Jake and Zach White, Robin, Chris and Stacy Lambert, Cody, Josh and Lizzy Saculla, Kimberly Saculla Seay and husband, Jimmy, Katy and Macy White, Riley Jo, Cash Earl and Shelbi Cheatham, Morgan A. Lapko, Erin A. Lapko, Blake E. Lapko, Blake E. Lapko, Britney A. Lippke, Lucas E. Donalson, Sophie E. Donalson; great-great grandchilren Lane Walker White, Cain, Gage and Felix Mireles, Colton Roberts and Jacob Seay.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to some very special women, for their love and compassion while they cared for our mother and our granny. Martha Flowers, Mrs. Fauchs, Texas Home Health Hospice; Mary Ann, Tammy and Tonya. We are very grateful for the call on your lives that enables you to serve others in such a wonderful way.

Ruth White will be missed by many, but heaven is a better place because we know that she is there.
