Sam Joseph San Angelo

Sam Joseph San Angelo, Sr., passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012. Visitation will be Friday, October 26, 2012, from 5 to 7 pm at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan, Texas. Funeral services will be at Callaway-Jones on Saturday, October 27, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Internment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Sam was born on December 11, 1932, to Peter and Lena San Angelo in Smetana, Texas and was the twelfth of thirteen children. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy for twenty-two years from 1952-1973, attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer and earning the Bronze Star in Vietnam. After the Navy, Sam retired from Moore Business Forms.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise San Angelo, both parents, and numerous brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his six children, Rhonda Cavett and Van Blevins; Ken San Angelo and wife, Carla; Sam San Angelo, Jr; Regina McKinney and husband Sean, Lena Miller and husband Steve; Rochelle Chavez and husband Sam; sixteen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Lena Parker and husband Bob of Beaumont, and sister-in-law Joann San Angelo of Bryan, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
