Sharron “Shay Baby” McDaniel Bailey

December 8, 1960 – September 5, 2019

Sharron McDaniel-Bailey, 58, of Bryan, Texas, passed away on September 5, 2019, in Fort Worth. A Celebration of Sharron’s life will be held at 11 am, Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center. Pastor Becky Randle, Restoration Ministries of Fort Worth, Texas will be officiating. Funeral Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory, Bryan-College Station.

Sharron “Shay Baby” was born in Bryan, Texas on December 8, 1960. She graduated in 1980 from Bryan High School. Shay Baby had various jobs throughout her lifetime, but her favorite job was being a cross-country truck driver for Prime, Inc..  She enjoyed cooking, traveling, listening to music, singing, reading her bible, going to church, and spending time with family and friends. Shay Baby was a caring and very lovable sister; she left a memorable and lasting impression upon everyone’s life she touched. She will truly be missed and never forgotten.

Shay Baby is preceded in death by her parents, Louise Johnson and James Harold Johnson and her Godmother Alma Sweed.

Shay Baby is survived by her six sisters, Jacqueline McDaniel, Sylvia Sparks and husband (Willie), Marshelia McDaniel, of Bryan, Texas, Vivian Van Buren of Suffolk, Virginia, Trisha Johnson, and Denitra Johnson, of Fort Worth, Texas; her four brothers, Calvin Johnson of San Antonio, Texas, Gerald Johnson and Ronald Johnson, of Bryan, Texas, Wendall Johnson and wife (Marcia) of Las Cruces, New Mexico; her father, Roy Johnson Jr.; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Special thanks to Aunt Mary and Uncle Hughbert Carter, Aunt Becky and Uncle Jerry Randle who were always available to provide support and spiritual guidance to Shay Baby in times of need.

Our family deeply appreciates, and thankful for your kind words and expressions of love. 1 Peter 4:8: “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” John 15:12: “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.

  2. Shay will truly be missed. I will never forget the fun times we had growing up together and in our adult years. Rest well in Heaven my sister.

    Sorry to hear about your loss. Shay Baby will truly be missed. Even though it has been years since I last saw her, when you mention her name, a smile comes on your face because you think of something she either said or did that had you laughing so hard that tears would come to your eyes.

    We know God’s got her and she is no longer suffering or in pain. Rest in peace Shay!

    A place I’ve heard of but someday hope to go…

    It’s not on any map, there are no roads to take me there, but it’s a place of Perfect Peace where hearts are free from care…

    And though I undestand some may be saddened when you left…
    Oneday we shall meet again, that’s what I believe.
