Tillie Eyeington
March 11, 1927 – December 12, 2018

Tillie Eyeington, 92, of Bryan, born on March 11, 1927, passed away December 12, 2018, surrounded by her children and loving caregivers at the Parc at Traditions in Bryan, Texas. Visitation was held 7 to 9 pm Thursday, December 13, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home, Bryan, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bryan, Texas, 10am, Friday December 14, 2018. A Rosary will be held at Ric Brown’s Funeral home, Mission, Texas, 6pm, Sunday, December 16, 2018. Interment will follow at 11am, Monday, December 17, 2018, at RGV State Veterans Cemetery, Mission, Texas. Local services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Tillie was born in Tokio, Texas. She was raised in West, Texas, and attended St. Mary’s Church of the Assumption Catholic School. At the age of sixteen, she enrolled at the University of Texas majoring in English. After graduation at the age of nineteen she returned to West to begin her teaching career. She worked for the Georgetown Housing Authority (1964-1967) and as a Remedial Reading Instructor for the Mission CISD (1968-1981).

During her marriage to the love of her life for almost 63 years, she lived in West, Dangerfield, Georgetown, and Mission, Texas. Her final destination brought her to Bryan to be close to her children. Wherever she lived, Tillie left a lasting impression on the friends she made.

The perpetual teacher with education always a priority, she thrived on inspiring her children and grandchildren to always do their best. Her credo of faith and family was ever present and holidays were always met with festive activities. Cherished memories of family and friends at gatherings will always be remembered. Her devotion to her faith, love of reading and joy of cooking made a loving and welcoming home for all.

She is survived by her children Charlotte Eyeington of Pearland, Texas, Charles (Erendira) Eyeington of Mission, Texas, Emily (Edwin) Kemp of Snook, Texas, Tom (Linda) Eyeington of El Paso, Texas, Jim (Joan) Eyeington of Blanco, Texas, Mary Beth (James) Kopecki of College Station, Texas, and Robert (April) Eyeington of College Station, Texas; sibling Christian Prebay of Auburn, Michigan; 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and her caregiver Michelle Caldwell.

She is preceded in death by her parents Anton and Emilye Hejl, the love of her life, husband Charles Eyeington,and grandson Charles MacClelland.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to St. Joseph Catholic Early Learning Center Bryan, Tx or a charity of your choice.
