Virgie Mary Selman

Mary McAnear Selman, 75, of Iola, Texas, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at her residence. A memorial service is set for Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Iola Missionary Baptist Church in Iola.

Mary was born June 6, 1934 in Gholston, Texas and married Billy Wayne Selman on April 7, 1951. They were married 58 years, 9 months. They lived many places over the years, but spent the last eighteen years in Iola.

Mary was preceded in death by her youngest son, Daniel Fed Selman.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Selman of Iola, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Connie Selman, of Iola, Texas, daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ray Chapman, of College Station, Texas, daughter-in-law Gayle Selman, of Bryan, Texas; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

  1. Memaw you were a very bright light in my life. Your memory will continue to burn brightly in my life until we meet again. I love you. I hope we all do as good of a job holding the family together as you did. You set a wonderful example of what family really is. Until we meet again, I love you always!!
