Virginia Anne Laudermilk of Bryan, TX, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Virginia was born in Upland, California and lived in Bryan for 50 years. Preceding her in death were her parents Arthur and Helena Parnell Robison, and two brothers Arthur Ivan Robison and Harold Wayne Robison.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Curtis Laudermilk; her children: Amanda of Houston, Jeremy (Ellen) Laudermilk of Spring, Neal (Melissa) of Bryan; and Meghan (Phillip) Zagotti of Houston; and her grandsons: Benjamin, Nicholas, Christopher, and Aaron of Rockwall and Kyle of Bryan. Virginia is also survived by numerous loving cousins, nieces and nephew.
Virginia graduated from Louisiana State University and was a lifelong educator. She was a math teacher and librarian in Bryan I.S.D. for more than thirty years. Virginia loved spending time with her grandsons, reading, sewing, traveling, and attending Aggie Football and Basketball games. She was most proud that all of her children graduated from Texas A&M University.
Virginia and family have been members of the A&M Church of Christ for almost 50 years. A “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

Virginia was a very special friend to me in my work for Mackin E. R. What a treasure it was to work with her when she opened Davila Middle School’s beautiful new library for Bryan ISD. From our visits to discuss her collection choices to the actual delivery and shelving of her fiction section with her precious daughter Amanda by her side, I knew I was blessed to work with a caring expert in librarianship. I always considered her a kindred soul. I am so sad to learn of her passing but know she is rejoicing with the heavenly host. There never was a more dedicated mother and grandmother, nor devoted Aggie fan. Thank heaven for her life. Rest in peace, dear Virginia.

When we sat next to Virginia and you in the waiting room at BSW in Temple in December, I never thought that it would be the last time to see Virginia. She was totally on top of things and was her normal friendly, talkative self. She was a super lady, and her passing has to be a great blow to you and your family.

So sorry to hear of Virginia’s passing. Though related through her grandather, Ott Robison, who was my uncle, we never had the pleasure of knowing her well. She and Curtis were able to attend one of our “Robison Cousins” reunions few years ago in Tyler, Tx. It was fun to meet them and visit with them for a short time. Thoughts and prayers for Curtis and the rest of her family.

A very special lady and friend has gone to be with the angels around the throne of God. Virginia was a friend, along with Curtis, when we were newly married and new to A & M. Her sweet smile and easy friendship were so welcoming to me as a new bride and new teacher. Gary and are saddened to hear of her passing. We send prayers of peace and God’s closeness to each member of her loving family.
So sorry to hear of Virginia’s passing. So enjoyed getting to know her a little better at our “cousin” reunion a few years ago. Praying that your sweet memories of her will bring comfort to you in the coming days.
Virginia’s grandfather and my mother were siblings.
My special needs daughter was a Library Aide to Mrs Laudermilk at Sam Rayburn. My daughter shared a love of books with her. She was always so patient and kind, as she showed her how to file the books. My daughter always loved doing work for her and Mrs. Laudermilk always surprised her with treats for holidays. My daughter post graduation has volunteered at a school library. I thank her for making school special for her and making a difference in my daughter’s life. My condolences to her family.
I was saddened to hear of Virginia’s passing. I love your family very much. I would love to see everyone and catch up, but am unable to see you at this time because of health reasons. Know that I am thinking of y’all and praying for y’all.

Mrs. Laudermilk was my teacher at Anson Jones Jr High. I remember her as a very sweet and patient teacher, as well as her husband, Mr. Laudermilk. Fine people. I thought it was cool that they lived in our neighborhood, Lynndale Acres. Prayers during this difficult time for her family.
