Virginia Ann Davidson Winslow
January 9, 1939 – January 3, 2018

Virginia Winslow, 78, of Bryan, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Bryan. Private services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers Bryan-College Station.

Virginia was born to James Allen and Jimmie Lena Hardy in Gilmer, Texas on January 9, 1939. Virginia was a passionate lady in all her endeavors, especially her maintaining her yard to perfection. She loved her family and grandchildren unconditionally; while teaching them hard work pays off. She was always dabbling into various craft projects where she found herself most at peace while quilting; baking her ever-famous chocolate pies to share with family and friends. Virginia really enjoyed cooking greens from her garden and would create new ways to flavor them up. Oh yes, did we mention anything about her famous “buttermilk pies?” To many friends they would never know her by Virginia but by “Granny”, she will be forever missed and loved by all. Virginia is the mom to six children whom she adored daily.

Her son, Richard Scott Pinson, her parents, James and Jimmie, her two brothers, her three sisters, and two brothers-in-law, all precede her in death.

Granny is survived by her children Steve Pinson, Wayne and his wife Carolyn Pinson, Kenneth Pinson, Sharon and her husband Sammy Spurgeon, Susan and her husband John McKenzie; her sisters Martha Sue Harris, and Patsy Oney; her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Her family is honoring her request of private service; your memorial donations are asked to be given to Aggieland Humane Society, 5359 Leonard Road, Bryan, Texas, 77807, in memory of Virginia Winslow.

My Deepest Condolences to Virginia’s family & Friends. I met Ms Virginia while working @ Trend Binder back in 1979. We worked side by side. She was one of the Sweetest & Compassionate ladies I’ve ever known. I used to go visit her from time to time at her house years later after she retired. She always loved talking about her children & grandbabies, whom she loved very much. She was a beautiful & one Hardworking lady. May she finally Rest in Peace. I will Truly miss her. If it hadn’t been for her, I might have lost my 1st son, as she recognized signs that I was trying to miscarry. She told me to immediately get to the Dr. For her advice I will always be Grateful. ❤❤❤RIP Ms. Virginia
