I was Volcieā€™s brother-in-law for 34 years and loved her very much. Volcie endured many trials, tribulations and disappointments in her life but dealt with them one day at a time. I believe that it was her faith in God and his enduring love that enabled her to start each day with hope. I hated to see her suffer these last few years but we do not have control over our fate. It is fortunate that her family and friends can continue with the knowledge that Volcie is with her maker and free from any suffering. I will always remember her sweet smile.

To Winnie, Ruby and the rest of Volcie’s family: I wasn’t around her a great deal, but I thought that Volcie was one of the nicest people I’d ever met, and I know that you will all miss her. You have my deepest sympathy.

Aunt Volcie was the sweetest woman. She had the most calming, soothing voice and I enjoyed her gentle laugh. She always made you feel welcome and wanted in her home. I know she is now at peace and no longer suffering, just reuniting with her husband and son. God Bless you, Aunt Volcie!

A couple of my loving memories of Volcie was when I was a little girl and she came to visit us in Mi. I remember how much I loved her laugh and the way she called my mother Aunt Ruthie. Before she left to return to Texas she gave me my first jewlrey box which I later passed on to my daughter Tammy. I will love and miss her always, and love to all of the family, Paula

Condolence from Lisa Cain on October 2nd, 2011 10:13 pm

I have so many sweet memories of you, Aunt Volcie: sending you $100 a month and writing you real letters way back when you had loaned Geoff some money to buy a car; coming to your family reunions; the birthday cards with special quarters or gold dollars taped to the inside you would send to all of us; hugs and kisses when we saw each other. Aunt Volcie, I have missed seeing you these past few years. I am happy you are now at peace among the angels in heaven. Love you so and Miss you much, Lisa
