William A. ‘Slim’ McLendon

Graveside services for William A. ‘Slim’ McLendon, 81, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Rest-Ever Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mr. McLendon died Wednesday at College Station Medical Center. He was a truck driver for Broach Oil and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth McLendon of Bryan; a son, Monty Yawn of Bryan; a daughter and son-in-law, Robbie and Tom Sparks of Katy; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 W. 26th St., Bryan, Texas 77803.
