Winston Stroup, 64, of Caldwell, passed from this life on Sunday, April 21 at St. Joseph Burleson Hospital in Caldwell.

Winston was born in Houston, Texas to Travis and Betty (Cline) Stroup. He graduated from Smiley High School to begin life’s journey. Winston was a caring and loving man. He is known for his steadfast love for all his children even to the extent of driving hours away to help with a stalled vehicle. The excitement he had for tending to his horses, we will always remember. He was never shy about fishing, touring junk car lots, and sharing his talents as a guitarist. You could always count on Winston to provide entertainment at family gatherings, picnics, and local social outings. However, in all his extracurricular activities he was always, always involved his children and grandchildren. He loved them unconditionally.

His survivors include his wife of 24 years, Becky Stroup; his sons and daughters-in-law, Coy, Winston and Michelle, Joey, Jason, Corey and Madeleine; his daughters, Sandra and husband Perry, Betty Jo and husband Penny; his brother Travis and wife Linda; his sister Tina and husband Robbie; his seventeen grandchildren, Perry, James, Nicholas, Rollins, Nathan, James, Austin, Mason, Bella, Kaleigh, Jackie, Presley, Kayla, Aaron, Star, Justin, and Jordan; to continue his legacy his four great-grandchildren; other relatives and close friends. Winston is also survived by his nephews Marcus, Chris, and Jeremy Kelly, and his cousin Alex Cline and also his family friends at Zodiac.

Winston had the funniest personality one could have. He was a joy to be around here at work and is already greatly missed. We were blessed to have known him.
