Yolanda M. Cruz was born on August 14th, 1953 to Consuelo Munoz and Guadalupe Orseaga. She met her husband and best friend, Santos Cruz, at the age of 17. They married in 1970 and have spent the last 49 years together. Yolanda passed away peacefully on December 21st, 2019 at her home with her husband and children by her side.
She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She loved welcoming all with a hot meal and always wore a smile filled with joy. You could often find Yolanda at her kitchen table peering out the window while listening to the tunes of her most loved artist Selena. Yolanda would boastfully talk about her 4 sons and loved traveling to neighboring cities to visit her sisters and friends.
Yolanda is survived by the love of her life, Santos Cruz; and her four sons, Michael (Shelley) Cruz, Adam (Yolanda) Cruz, Israel (Danielle) Cruz and Jesus (Valarie) Cruz. She has 10 grandchildren, Marcos, Aaron, Madeline, Brookelyn, Darian, Miley, Maddox, Caden, Elliana, Caleb and 1 great-granddaughter Kennedy Grace. Her 2 sisters and 3 brothers survive her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson Michael Leonard, and 2 granddaughters Analicia and Ava.
The family will honor Yolanda’s life in a private Prayer Service and Rosary.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Mrs. Cruz was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother to her loved ones. She will be missed dearly. My prayers are with the Cruz family and all the extended family.
